Procrastination is an effect of a cause! Procrastination is NEVER and will NEVER be REAL problem.

As mentioned previously, procrastination is an effect. What is an effect? According to Dictionary.com, it means "something that is produced by an agency or cause; result; consequence." So what does that mean? It simply means this - Something is causing you to PROCRASTINATE!
Have you thought about that before? Many, including myself in the past, has thought that I procrastinate for no apparent reason. Maybe it is because that which I seek for is not really that important. Or it could be that I procrastinate there are not many push factors to propel me to act. It has not consciously occurred to me that the reason why I actually procrastinate has to do with a deeply seeded cause.
Something is causing me to procrastinate. It is this something that I need to fix if I were to overcome procrastination and start moving forward towards my goals and ambitions.
Some of the cause includes the following:
- Fear of failure
- Pride (Not wanting to be seen as a failure)
- A lack of belief for the goal that you are trying to attain
- Physiological reasons (Not taking care of the body, thus, not having the physical energy to focus)
If you do not deal with the root of the problem, you will never eradicate the problem. The best thing to overcome it is to START to bring yourself out of the denial phase. If you are serious of success for yourself and in life, you have to know what are things that are holding you back. Knowledge gives you power. Power brings about the ability to act.
For my site, I love to emphasize the word "ACT." Why? Simply because actions produce results. Results may be positive or negative, good or bad. They may not be what you have desired but they are results nonetheless.
You may be asking - "What then is the cure for procrastination?" If you are still asking this question at this point, I will then summarize and give you three simple steps towards the ABILITY TO ACT, which is opposite of procrastination.
1. (What) Find the root cause
What is the thing that is stopping you from moving forward? You can find the root cause by the process I call Narrowing. The process is simple. Just continuously ask yourself what is the actual reason for your current procrastination. An example will be "I am fearful of rejection." If you are able to narrow further, you will probably ask what is causing this fear of rejection. It would then be because you want to stay with your current group of friends or peers. It is critical that you reach the root. Take it seriously when you ask yourself about the "What is causing" questions. It is with the roots that we can effectively deal with and eliminate crippling habits of procrastination.
2. (Why) Attack the root cause and weed it out
Next, ask the whys. This part is two-folds. First ask yourself why you have the root cause. Secondly, ask yourself why you should actually have to bother with it, and choose to act in spite of it. For example, if it is fear of failure, ask yourself honestly why you are afraid of it. Probably you would say things like you don't want to tell others that you have failed, or have others laugh at you. Next, show yourself reasons why you do not have to be afraid. Probably you will tell yourself something like this - that this is your life and that falling down or having a not-so-perfect plan is not a big deal. The big deal is that you lose out on the opportunity to be successful, to reach your goals, or to give yourself that great sense of fulfillment. It is about how you put things into perspective.
3. (How) Simply, ACT
Finally, you move on to the how! Here, you find ways on how you can take on small and incremental steps towards breaking that pattern of procrastination. It takes you away from the role of a victim to a position of power! Some examples of steps you can take would be reminding yourself of the reason why you are pursuing a certain goal. It could also be doing up a goals board to be placed in your bedroom, so you can better visualize on your goals. I hope that this has helped you as much as it has helped me when I am writing it. It is always so surreal to write stuff like that. It is like I am reading a book that has already been written but the fact is that it is me reading something that is in the processed of being written. Ha! Technology has changed the way we move, communicate, and live. Because we have not had the time to acclimate to these changes brings a certain level of anxiety.
We have lost a sense of moral standards which to live by causing us to fend for ourselves. There is a mix of inconsistent values presented by the media and world views. We are left with having to fill the gap with our own views, but when we cannot fill that gap most of us resort to escapism and addiction causing us to live more out of tune and thus finding ourselves anxious.
Our sense of connection has been lost due to the increase in technology. Feeling connected to someone or something other than yourself gives you a sense of security and stability. Anxiety arises in the time when you lose your sense of connection. Either to yourself, your community, nature, or higher power. With this alienation you are more likely to perceive something as a potential threat to yourself. Most of todays anxiety stems from the perception of threat in the absence of feeling connected. In the past everyone knew their neighbors and had a true sense of connection with their community. Now with the internet and tv and even mobile phones our sense of connection is becoming weak and even lost. Most people spend all day in front of the tv or computer screen. Facebook is our sense of community but with no actual physical interaction your mind can still feel alone and lost. Odds are you live in a single family home or apartment and don't even speak to your next door neighbor or even know their name.
I could keep going but the point is that most of us have become separated from ourselves due to work, money, material goods, alcohol or drugs. The media has flooded us with false values of fear and consumption and instant gratification. Even the unexpected attacks on our soil have put us all in a state of fear. It comes as no surprise that in today's society there is more anxiety disorders. Many of us are looking for solutions to make our lives more peaceful and livable and that is why I wrote this article. Take a minute for yourself, slow down enjoy the world and the people around you. Find a set of values you want to live by and practice them everyday. Go out and meet your neighbors. Fill your mind with friends and family. Just by doing these few things you can reduce the amount of time your mind has to be anxious and start living a life of peace.

How to Make Sand Vase Whenever you start looking for crafts to do with either your kids or a group of kids, there are several things that you have to take into consideration. One is the age group and the number of kids versus the difficulty of the project. Another is whether the materials for the project can be attained at a reasonable price. Making a sand vase is a project that is cheap, easy to do, and something that can give creative freedom to all the kids that are involved.

One of the great things about this project is that it does not take a lot of materials and you can make a sand vase at very little cost. In fact, assuming that you have glue on hand already, the colored sand could be the only material that you would have to purchase.
Material List: Newspaper, plastic cup, paint brush, colored sand, glue, bottle or jar, paper or pie plate, and a spoon.
The newspaper is used simply to catch any stray sand that may fall off the plate that your kids are supposed to be holding over, and trust me, there will be stray sand. The newspapers just make it easier to clean up later when the kids are done. I use the plastic cups to hold the glue, which also makes for easy cleanup as well. You will also want to dilute the glue with about a teaspoon of water for every 1/4 cup of glue you use. This helps to make a thin and even coating whenever the kids are applying it onto the jars.
As I mentioned before, most of the materials can be found around your house already. The glass bottles or jars can be purchased at a local craft store for fairly reasonable prices, but if you think ahead of time, you can get your friends and family or the kids parents to start saving bottles and jars before hand. You will want to make sure that any labels on the outside of the jars are removed and that they have been cleaned so that the glue and sand will adhere to the jars.
Use the paintbrushes to apply the glue onto the jars. The kids can cover their jars completely with glue and then sprinkle the sand over the jars while holding over one of the plates and spreading it evenly. Once completed, set the jar aside to dry. The kids can also make several designs on their vase by drawing them on the jars first with the glue and the paintbrush and then sprinkling the sand over the design. Once they are finished with their design they can go back and add more glue and sprinkle more sand to fill in the other spaces. This can be very useful whenever you are making the sand vase for someone as a gift such as for a mom on Mother's day.
