Hum Tum Shabana Hindi Movie 2011 On a regular day one may have decent to good expectations from the music of Hum Tum Shabana, a relatively mid-budget film with Tusshar Kapoor, Minissha Lamba and Shreyas Talpade in the lead. However the moment you realise that the music is composed by the duo of Sachin-Jigar, expectations take an altogether different proportion. After all these are the whiz-kids who have delivered a super-hit soundtrack in F.A.L.T.U. earlier this year and an underrated score in Teree Sang earlier which unfortunately went unnoticed. However with a much better standing that they enjoy today and Sameer as their lyricist, Sachin-Jigar promise a rollicking ride with young, colorful and vibrant Hum Tum Shabana.



MUSIC


A few months back it was 'Chaar Baj Gaye Par Party Abhi Baaki Hai' and now it's time to continue the party all night long with 'Musik Bandh Na Karo'. Yet again, this one too turns out to be an addictive outing with the rhythm and beat ensuring that 'party chalti hi rahegi'. A dance floor number which is all set to be tremendously popular in the discotheques and clubs within days of it's arrival, it also enjoys a well deserved 'remix' version for itself. While Abhishek Nailwal and Palash Sen are seemingly enjoying their stint behind the mike, one can well visualise Anushka Manchanda herself letting hair down on the dance floor.

Sachin-Jigar continue to impress with a love song arriving next which again stands out from the crowd. With a club sound to it, 'Hey Na Na Shabana' is a 'roothna-manana' number which takes off from where 'Kabhi Kabhi Aditi' left in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa. Still it manages to hold on it's own identity from the very first note. Simplistic in it's setting, easy on pace and just right when it comes to arrangements; 'Hey Na Na Shabana' also sees the arrival of Raghav in the Bollywood scene who makes a striking impact. With the 'Party Map Remix' continuing the fun element, 'Hey Na Na Shabana' is yet another straight forward hit.

It turns out to be the case of 'too good to be true' as Sachin-Jigar make it three in a row with 'Thank U Mr. DJ'. A hip-hop number that also brings in the elements of rock as well as rap, it has the kind of thump which is not just infectious but also makes you drop everything and hit that dance floor. In fact after the pacy appeal of 'Musik Bandh Na Karo', the seductive sound of 'Thank U Mr. DJ' with Mika Singh and Suzanne D'Mello dominating the show only adds on to the variety of Hum Tum Shabana which is a guaranteed winning album by the time the song ends.

However the fun doesn't seem to end, what with Anushka Manchanda and Jigar Saraiya taking a cue from the folk number 'Kesariya Balam' and creating their very own contemporary version of composing 'Piya Kesariyo'. A slow moving number which has a fantastic fusion appeal to it and seems to have been created for the passion of night, 'Piya Kesariyo' starts off as a seductive outing and adds more thump to it as it progresses. With Anushka Manchanda leading the show and clearly enjoying the platform where she is free to experiment and do things the way she wishes, 'Piya Kesariyo' has Jigar Saraiya joining the show. This is one number that A.R. Rahman would have approved.

Expectedly, Hum Tum Shabana ends on a party mood with Tochi Raina singing to the words put together by guest lyricist Mayur Puri in 'Kaari Kaari'. A Punjabi track that seems like an extension of 'Musik Bandh Na Karo' when it comes to the core sound, pace and rhythm, 'Kaari Kaari' is enjoyable nonetheless and ensures that the album ends on a high note. Tochi Raina does well too with his rustic vocals doing all the talking. Though one still feels that the songs preceding this one were better, 'Kaari Kaari' is not a pushover either, never mind it's apparent similarities with 'Razia' [Thank You].

OVERALL

Hum Tum Shabana is the biggest surprise of the season and also yet another follow up to some good music that has been heard during last few weeks. After Mausam and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, this is yet another soundtrack that has in it to enter the big league. In fact all that is needed now is to find some terrific promotion coming its way. And then if the movie turns out to be successful, sky would be the limit for this Sachin-Jigar soundtrack that is a sure-shot chartbuster in the offering. In any case, there is enough ammunition in the album to find continued audience for itself in the discotheques and clubs.
